That’s How We Scroll

Here at Hardly Square we’ve come across the discussion of scrolling many times. Often times scrolling is unfairly categorized by clients as a negative act. I’m sure you’ve heard it, “Ummm… Yeah I’m gonna have to have you move that image, copy and 3 links up above the fold.” Why jam everything within the top 600 pixels? Why not entice your viewer to look further with a thoughtful design and utilize a reveal?

Apple Has Its Head in the Clouds

The way we interact with our computing devices is changing. Computing devices are becoming simplified, more natural. Where are the clouds? They’re in the sky, naturally. Where are my photos? They’re in the Photo App. On our iPhones we don’t drag and drop a photo into the Photo App. The photo files are all automatically sent to the Photo App as soon a we snap that picture. Where are those files located on my iPhone’s hard drive anyway? Who cares… I just need to easily be able to look at them, email them to my friends, or post them to Facebook.

Does taking a 15 minute eLearning course on how to use a welding torch sound drawn-out? How about a 5 minute course?

Well, the fact is that time really shouldn’t be the deciding factor. But, wait a minute (or should I say what seems like a minute?). Your time is valuable. It’s not the actual time that passes while a learner experiences a course that we should be concerned with most. It’s the amount of time learners feel passed while experiencing a course that matters.
